Tips´n Tricks, Lars Helle, Creative Director, Mohive

In this edition of tips’n tricks I would like to bring to your attention the versatility that the explore templates offers for your e-learning content creation. As you are all aware, the explore templates offer interactivity without rights and wrongs: in fact the explore templates offer some of the interactivity that would classically be something that you would commission a bespoke content supplier for.

The reasons for converting pure text pages into explore pages are multiple:

  • It is more engaging for learners as it allows them to actively search for knowledge
  • This interaction also permits the learner to more easily contextualize the information
  • This results in an increased retention of the new knowledge
  • These interactions produce a shorter course than would generally be developed using pure text, reducing the learning time taken

If you follow the link at the bottom of this section I have created some examples of how the different explore templates can be used. I have deliberately not used anything fancy except the templates and pictures. Hopefully, these examples will motivate you to go ahead and explore (no pun intended) the possibilities of the explore templates yourself.

These examples are separated into two sections.

  • There are many ways of using this template, today we look at the specific ways to utilize the picture varieties of the explore templates.
  • The second section illustrates how you can use the elaborate template to tell stories. This is a simple technique that can be used in a variety of different modules, and remember — for the more adventurous content creators out there, every explore template can use sound and video files!
  • Enjoy!

Below is a link which contains the above simulations bought to life, enjoy!
